Fall 2016 Honors Colloquium: Inequality and the American Dream

Mark Levinson is the Chief Economist for The Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Mr. Levinson received his PhD. in economics from the New School for Social Research. He previously worked as Chief Economist for UNITE HERE and UNITE and as an economist at the United Automobile Workers (UAW) and the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). His writings on economic policy, the global economy and labor rights have been published in the New York Times, The Nation, The American Prospect, Dissent (where he is also book review editor), New Labor Forum and Boston Review. In 2002-2003 Mr. Levinson was a Revson Fellow at Columbia University. In 2005-06 Mr. Levinson was the co-director of the Economic Policy Institute’s Agenda For Shared Prosperity.

Harrington Hub Opening

Presenting the Harrington Hub for Global Leadership in Communication and Media @ Ranger Hall.

The new Harrington Hub is the heart of the Harrington School. It features a media screening amphitheater, active learning classrooms, media equipment center, digital innovation lab, editing suites, co-working space, on-site advising, plus a host of “flash programs” with guest faculty and industry leaders.

Featuring Emmy-winning TV journalist and personality Meredith Vieira and U.S. Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and Spokesperson John Kirby, along with tours of our new space, film and video screenings, small group workshops, networking opportunities with media executives, foods from around the globe, music, and giveaways.
