For 30 years, the Office of Student Involvement, The Center for Student Leadership Development and the Dean of Students Officehold an annual celebration to honor students who are successful in various leadership roles while maintaining a good academic record. The award is named in memory of A. Robert Rainville ’64, students’ friend and mentor, Vice President for Student Affairs 1980-86.

In honor of Dr. Thewlis, URI established the Malford Thewlis Lecture in
Gerontology and Geriatrics in 2006. This goal of this annual event is to raise
awareness, enhance knowledge, and stimulate discussion about issues related
to aging, longevity, and health care for older adults.

Talent Development PREP 2018
The PREP Program welcomes Talent Development’s 50th incoming class to URI and begins the scholars’ academic journey as members of TD Nation. PREPis a foundational experience for our scholars and their parents as their first visit to the campus as accepted TD Scholars. This is a critical component of their experience because they begin to learn the expectations of the program as well as the opportunities that await them.
